Power Support Aceh, PT PLN Power Hire PT KKA
21 June 2012TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – PT PLN (Persero) rented power plants owned by PT Paper Kraft Aceh (Limited) to support the electrical system in northern Aceh. PLN president director Nur Pamudji describes the operation of Steam Power Plant (CPP) of PT KKA, Aceh certainly get additional power supply of 22 Mega Watt.
The partnership also outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation Operations Facility Rental Power Plants for Lhokseumawe area, Aceh. “This MoU PLN hopes to soon be followed up with concrete measures to realize this partnership,” said Pamudji in a written statement Monday, June 18, 2012.
Plant owned by PT KKA operated using Steam Turbine Generator-made General Electric Energy (GEE) with a capacity of 2 x 18 MW. But since December 2007, the power plant is no longer operated by PT KKA stop producing. At the same time, PLN needs additional power supply in the region of Aceh. Therefore, PLN and PT KKA agreed to work together to harness the power plant within a period of 10 years.
He hoped the resolution process modifications to turbine power can be completed in September 2012, so that the plant becomes more efficient and ready to operate the end of the year. PLN and KKA will also try to approach Pertamina and BP Migas for gas supply in order to get power to operate immediately.
Director of Asset Management Company (Limited), Boyke Mukijat, said that this partnership is a form of participation make healthy PT PLN in KKA. “We hope that this cooperation can provide a real added value to both the spirit of synergy between state-owned enterprises,” he said.
