2 Economy Krakatau trains from Merak to Madiun is Ready to Serve for Lebaran11 July 2013
Jakarta - The Ministry of Transportation adds two economy class AC trains to anticipate homecoming Lebaran in 2013. Krakatau train will serve passengers and the Perak-Madiun and vice versa.
In a press release railway of Ministry of Transportation received by AFP on Wednesday (07/10/2013), of each series of Krakatau trains that will be unveiled consisted of 10 units train (carriages in common parlance) and 1 economy AC and Resto train. 1 series of trains with a capacity of 768 seats Krakatau.
There are 10 car passengers, 8 for regular passenger and 2 other cars for passengers with disabilities. The total capacity of 2 cars is 128 seats. Two carriages for disabled are created to facilitate the access for people with disabilities and the elderly, including toilet facilities for disabled people.
Two series of economic railway which will be submitted to PT KAI is a part of the procurement of 50 trains AC economy. On mass transit last Eid in 2012, PT KAI also get cross-KA Menoreh serving Pasar Senen Station – Semarang and 2 series of trains Majapahit I and II serve cross Pasar Senen – Malang.
The Financing of 50 economy AC trains originating is from the state budget funds of the Directorate General of Railways Ministry of Transportation 174 billion IDR.
